I attended the Sunday service this December and the topic of our is about the true meaning of Christmas. This was discussed by our beloved Pastor Oriel of Doulos For Christ World Harvest Ministry. Our church by the way is located in front of Luneta, 5th flr. Masagana Mall in T.M. Kalaw St.
He started by stating about the commercialize meaning of Christmas. He said about people knows Christmas as the timeof giving, sharing, preparing for food, wearing new clothes, a special holiday for people to get merry. Which is right, people should get merry but we have to go back to the true meaning of Christmas and that is all about the birth og our Lord Jesus Christ.
People started to become self-centered on the day of Christmas. Most become disappointed because they think about the gifts they will receive and the bad part is when you haven't receive any and all the people around expects something from you.
People should realize that it is that we celebrate Christmas because it is the day of birth of our God. We should be the one that needs to give gift to God and not to ask from Him. It is His birthday not ours in the first place?
Now lets take note the reasons for having a Christmas day:
1. He came as a ransom for our sin.
2. He calls all the sinner to repent.
3. He opens our morally closed eyes.
4. He divided the family.
5. He excempt us from the divine condemnation
6. He give us an Eternal life.
The teaching was all about Christ, who was born to sacrifice and give Hid own life to save us. So this coming Christmas let us pray, give praise and thank our God for giving us the chance to live eternity with Him. Just accept that we are a sinner, repent, believe that Jesus is our saviour and continue to walk to His path.
